We had a great experience listing our home with Mary Jo Nathan. We lived in our Portage Park bungalow for 24 years and had never really gone through the process of selling a home after such a long residence. Mary Jo thoroughly explained what we needed to do at every step. That was especially helpful while explaining the contract and the changing laws about realtor compensation. She shared a ton of research to back up her suggested listing price, too.
As we got closer to selling time, she checked in regularly and adjusted the listing date to meet our needs. With her help we staged with our furniture, the photographer was top notch, and the listing went up on a Tuesday. By the end of the first week, she had 17 private showings and offers over asking price. We decided to hold the open house as planned on that Sunday, and another 25 groups of potential buyers showed up. We had 6 great offers by Monday, and she discussed the pros and cons of each. The closing went through about 5 weeks later with no problems.
Mary Jo was great. She showed up for every meeting whether with us, the photographer, showings, inspection, appraiser, and walk through. We texted and phoned, sometimes much too late in the evening, and she showed genuine concern about helping us get through the process. She absolutely nailed how to sell our home. We highly recommend her for anyone who needs a realtor.

Home buying, even as exciting as it can be, is still fraught with potential problems and setbacks and Mary Jo can share the excitement of the "hunt" while also providing the often much-needed "reality check" on one's dreams and visions. In our case, after looking at many houses that just didn't "feel right," she emailed us a property that had just come up on the MLS. This was a home that we wouldn't have considered, given the description, but with Mary Jo's encouragement, we went to see it. We were first-time home buyers who had a specific budget and a particular area where we wanted to buy. Mary Jo was a safe pair of hands for us on so many levels.
